TMR fave Jay Som (aka Melina Duterte) has been on a roll as of late having already released two brilliant offcuts from her stunning 2017 album Everybody Works this year. Her latest offering ‘Hot Bread’ has just been released as part of Amazon Music’s Love Me Not playlist on SoundCloud in honour of Valentine’s Day. It's the first sign of more recent work from the Californian songwriter and living up to our high expectations, Duterte’s effortlessly cool style shines through in this complicated love story. The lyrics see Duterte mulling over a one night stand with a past lover as she pleads, “Will you dance with me, Jen? You won’t have to see me leave again,” whilst the music is tinged in a summery vintage feel aided by an exciting new purchase. Duterte explains, "My new microphone arrived just in time to track the song...The warm and dry 70s tone inspired me to make a chill but optimistic arrangement with simple lyrics ...
